NEXT: The Remix
A Strategic Pre-Work Guide for Vision, Alignment & Direction
Welcome: Back Around the Table
When we gathered for the original BOSS Summit in 2023, we established three foundational pillars to help each of us step into what was next:
Confidence
Building the nerve to execute, breaking through internal glass ceilings, and silencing self-doubt.
Clue
Getting clear on what you were created to do, identifying your distinct strengths, and locking into the right lane.
Connections
Cultivating the network, operational relationships, and systems needed to make vision tangible.
Over our getaways in 2024 and 2025, we sat around the table, decompressed, and had honest conversations about our lives, careers, and callings. I remember everything you shared—the businesses you wanted to launch, the nonprofits you felt pulled toward, the ministries you envisioned, the life pivots you were navigating, and the dreams you spoke into the room.
NEXT: The Remix is about picking up those threads with clarity rather than pressure. Whether you are scaling an active enterprise, refining an institutional consulting model, building a direct-to-consumer product, stepping onto speaking stages, returning to school, or stepping into a season of personal reinvention, this guide is designed to help you organize your thoughts before we land in New York.
Please Note: This workbook is entirely optional and is not mandatory for the trip. It was created specifically for those who requested a structured way to organize their ideas before we meet up.
How We’re Doing This
- Auto-Saved to Your Device: As you type, your progress is automatically saved to your browser's local storage. Important: It saves to this specific device and browser (e.g., Safari on your iPhone). If you switch to your laptop, your answers will not sync. Always return to this exact device and browser to pick up where you left off, or use the "Save PDF" button to export a copy.
- Complete at Your Own Pace: Move through these three parts thoughtfully at home before traveling.
- Optional Early Review: If you want Michelle to review your roadblocks, technical hurdles, or business models ahead of time, send your completed exercises by Sept 11, 2026.
- Bring It to the Table: If you want to participate in our evening strategy session in New York, bring your completed booklet—it will serve as your personal roadmap during the mastermind.
- Keep It as Your Private Blueprint: If you are in a season where you prefer not to share publicly, you are welcome to keep this workbook entirely to yourself as a personal journal to clarify your goals and move at your own speed.
See you in NY,
- Michelle
The Remix (Inventory & Alignment)
"Progress begins with absolute honesty about where you are today, celebrating real momentum, and intentionally releasing outdated commitments without guilt."
Life is dynamic. What had your full attention two years ago may no longer fit the season you are standing in right now. The Remix is not an autopsy of what you didn’t finish; it is a clear-eyed inventory of where your energy, bandwidth, and desires are today.
We are not looking for excuses—we are looking for data. By evaluating past intentions alongside your current reality, you give yourself permission to keep what still carries fire, pivot what needs a new vehicle, discard what no longer serves you, and adopt new opportunities with clear focus.
Exercise 1.1: The Track Record
Think back to what you previously spoke into the room during the BOSS Summit or our annual trips. Log where those goals stand today.
| Previous Goal, Venture, or Life Move | What Actually Transpired? | Current Status (Active, Pivoted, or Paused) |
|---|---|---|
Exercise 1.2: Keep, Pivot, Release, or Adopt
Review every idea, project, or responsibility currently taking up space in your mind and assign it to one of these four categories:
1. KEEP (Active Momentum)
What projects, habits, or ventures still carry genuine excitement, demand, and traction?
2. PIVOT (Right Concept, Wrong Vehicle)
What ideas are fundamentally sound, but currently stalled because the pricing, delivery method, or structure needs an overhaul?
3. RELEASE (No Guilt, No Regrets)
What goals did you speak in a past season that simply do not belong in your next chapter? Give yourself permission to cross them off completely.
4. ADOPT (The Fresh Horizon)
What brand-new vision, venture, educational pursuit, or lifestyle change has emerged recently that you are ready to formally step into?
The Alignment Filter (Calling vs. Enterprise vs. Hobby)
"Not every good idea is a divine calling, not every calling is meant to be a nonprofit or business, and not every nonprofit or business is meant to be yours."
When you see a real need in the world or have a creative idea, it does not automatically mean God assigned it to your plate. Taking on every good idea is an easy way to burn through your savings, drain your energy, and fragment your focus on things you were never meant to carry.
Before you invest your time, money, and emotional reserves into a venture, run it through this two-part alignment filter.
Exercise 2.1: The Calling & Mandate Audit
(Complete this exercise to evaluate whether your concept is a divine assignment, a service ministry, or a community initiative.)
What is the initiative or organization? What is the specific, acute crisis or problem it addresses?
Are you providing a structured, actionable breakthrough, or an informal listening ear? (A true mandate provides tools, frameworks, and actionable solutions that produce measurable change—not open-ended commiseration.) What is the tangible deliverable?
Are you called to build and lead the infrastructure, or are you simply called to support the cause? (Seeing a problem does not make you the executive director.)
Exercise 2.2: The Enterprise & Sustainability Check
(Complete this exercise if your concept is a commercial business, a paid consulting/speaking practice, or a self-sustaining nonprofit.)
Who pays for this solution, and why is it worth their investment? (For B2B: Why does a department allocate budget? For B2C: Why does an individual swipe their card?)
Fixed Financial Costs (Leases, software, etc.):
Weekly Time Required (Hours):
Does the projected revenue or funding justify the physical and mental investment?
3. The Verdict
Based on Exercises 2.1 and 2.2, identify the true classification of this project (Check all that apply):
The Universal Blueprint & Roadblock Breakdown
"Creating a product, writing a guide, or outlining a service is only the beginning. If you do not have a defined operational path to deliver it to the buyer, you do not have a venture—you have an unfinished project."
Now that your idea is filtered for alignment, map the universal machinery required to bring it to market.
Exercise 3.1: The 4 Universal Pillars
Answer these four foundational questions for your primary focus:
Who is the specific entity making the buying decision?
What is the exact form of the product or service they receive?
Where do they find you, pay, and get fulfilled?
Exercise 3.2: The 3-Step Roadblock Breakdown
(Complete this exercise before bringing your project to our New York mastermind or submitting it for early review.)
Name your exact operational bottleneck
Study 3 working delivery models
Choose your unique value & tool
Step 1: Define Your Exact Operational Roadblock
What specific mechanism is stopping you from launching, delivering, or scaling this? (Be precise: Is it selecting a digital sales platform, configuring merchant processing, pricing packages, creating a capability statement, or building an outreach pipeline?)
Step 2: Investigate 3 Real-World Delivery Models
Identify three independent creators, consultants, service providers, or boutique businesses whose delivery process you admire.
Model 1 (The Tech & Delivery Flow)
Model 2 (The Packaging & Presentation)
Model 3 (The Audience & Positioning)
Step 3: Differentiate & Select Your Tool
Putting It All Together
You've done the hard work of taking inventory, filtering your ideas, and mapping out your operational roadblocks. This blueprint is no longer just a collection of ideas—it is your personal roadmap.
Next Steps for the Meetup:
- Bring Your Answers: Have this workbook accessible during our New York mastermind sessions. Because your answers are auto-saved to this device, you can simply bring this device, or use the "Save PDF / Print" button at the top to bring a physical copy.
- Bring Your Questions: Based on the bottlenecks you discovered in Step 3, write down 1 or 2 pointed questions. We will tackle these specifically when we sit around the table.
- Submit for Early Review: If you want Michelle to review your chosen models and provide direct technical/operational feedback prior to the trip, submit your roadblock breakdown by Sept 11, 2026.
✓ Progress Auto-Saved: Your answers are safely stored in this browser's local storage. Remember, it does not sync across devices. Return using this exact device and browser to see your work.
