Never Let Fear Stop You!

On Mother's Day, I was on a flight to see Michelle and Cole in Nashville.  One of my goals was to see Athena in the Parthenon.  For years I thought about it, but would never go.  Why?  I was afraid.

It wasn't my cane, or worrying about how long the walk would be.  It was fear of how big I thought the statue would be.  That silly fear kept me from experiencing something that I'd always wanted to do.

But, this time Michelle was not going to let me miss out on seeing it.  So, I did.

And guess what... it wasn't as big, or as scary as I thought it would be.  I even met a wonderful lady (pictured below) who worked there. She had lost nearly 200lbs and had her own story of courage.

The moral of the story?  Don't turn mole hills into mountains and statues into scary monsters.

P.S.  Michelle was the camera person, and not in any of the pics... so that means another visit!  🙂
